Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has reacted to US president Donald Trump’s use of his video clips at rallies to push his false narrative that white people are under siege in South Africa.

Reacting to the white house ambush in a post on X, the firebrand politician said:

‘A group of older men meet in Washington to gossip about me. No significant amount of intelligence evidence has been produced about white genocide. We will not agree to compromise our political principles on land expropriation without compensation for political expediency’. — Julius Sello Malema (@Julius_S_Malema) May 21, 2025

Ramaphosa looked visibly uncomfortable when the clips were played. And asked his Minister of Agriculture John Steenhuisen to respond to the to the misguided allegations about farm killings.

The press focused on Malema for a couple of minutes with billionaire businessman, Johan Rupert also sharing his sentiments on Malema’s past utterances, “I have been a target of this man for ten years.”

Soon after the presser, Malema responded on social media platform X, saying “A group of older men gather in Washington to gossip about me…”

Trump and some of his executive members have been pushing their “white genocide” propaganda for a while, in some instances sharing the videos of Malema on social media.

President Ramaphosa has reiterated that South Africa’s problem is not a white targeting criminal matter, but a general crime problem which was also reiterated by Rupert.
