Daughter Of GOP Politician Begs Voters Not To Vote For Her Dad

Stephanie Regan, the daughter of a Michigan Republican candidate Robert Regan may have wreaked her father’s campaign with a single tweet that begged residents not to vote for her dad.

The twitter post that has racked up more than 173,000 likes as the last count got further traction when Robert Regan decided to post an unhelpful reply to her daughter’s request.

“if you’re in Michigan and 18+ pls for the love of god do not vote for my dad for state rep. tell everyone,” Stephanie tweet read.

“Do a quick fb or google search to find info about his campaign,” she went on in a follow-up Tweet. “I don’t feel safe rn sharing further information regarding his beliefs, but please look him up and just read for yourself.”

Her father responded to the tweets with a four-paragraph, 193-word statement in which he expresses his love for his children and the importance of the 1st Amendment.

“I am happy that she feels confident enough in our relationship to express her opposing thoughts so publicly,” he said in the statement posted to Facebook.

“I love all of my four children and only want what’s best for them,” he added. “We may not always agree on ‘what is best’ but, their best, is my goal.”

Robert Regan blamed his daughter’s mind set on a liberal education she received while attending the University of Colorado in Boulder.

“They just kind of get sucked into this Marxist, communist ideology and she and I just don’t see eye to eye when it comes to the whole socialism, communism, Marxist philosophy.”

Regan, unlike his daughter, said he does not believe in systemic racism.

“She’s a big believer in that,” he reportedly said. “The only place where I really see systemic racism would be the abortion clinic because they seem to target the African American community.”

Stephanie, meanwhile, was shocked by the response to her tweet and kept at it with another post Thursday.

“I didn’t think anyone past hometown friends would see this but this is more than political beliefs!! ppl see a familiar name & vote. READ. GOOGLE,” she tweeted.
