World Tennis number one player Novak Djokovic has confirmed his positive test to Covid-19 after his organised Adria Tour tournament in Croatia and Serbia was forced to be cancelled following two top player’s testing positive to the virus.
British Dan Evans had earlier demand that Djokovic “feel some responsibility” after Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki all tested positive for Covid-19 after playing at his Adria Tour event.
Australia’s Nick Kyrgios hit out at the ‘boneheaded decision’ to push ahead with Novak Djokovic’s Adria Tour after players tested positive for coronavirus.
In April, Djokovic had revealed he was an anti-vaxxer – and that he will not take any vaccine, should it be made compulsory for return to competitive tennis once the sport resumes after the coronavirus pandemic.
Zverev, Cilic and Andrey Rublev, who also played, have tested negative, but suggested they will all now self-isolate for up to 14 days.
Djokovic’s made the diagnosis public in a statement.
