It is no longer news that talks have reached advanced stage between the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and its kit-sponsor NIKE on the design of the country’s 2020-21 home and away kits.
Despite no official release by the two parties, it appears the kits have released into international markets as the new design were spotted in shops in South Korea and online stores.
The new shits which were presented by Nike a brand event in New York City in February 2020, alongside the new South Korea and USA kits jerseys is a gorgeous hand-drawn design derived from traditional Nigerian Agbada robes.
It incorporates a number of different hues of green, whilst featuring subtle light grey motifs on the white central body. In a departure from the previous design, the badge is central with ‘NAIJA’ is inscribed on the inside neck.
After a virtual meeting on August 31 attended by NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, Vice Presidents, Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, NIKE’s Tina Salminen, David Watson and Lee Murphy, the NFF said the kit designers were putting finishing touches to the designs with observations and comments taken.
No official release date has been announced.
