Millions of smartphone users will soon no longer be able to use WhatsApp as the messaging App will stop functioning on aging smartphones in just a matter of days.
Over 49 smartphone models will no longer receive updates to support the use of WhatsApp from December 31st when the update is deployed.
“To keep up with the latest advances in tech, we routinely stop supporting older operating systems to point our resources to supporting the latest ones,” a spokesperson for the app said.
WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in use, with the company boasting more than two billion users in more than 180 countries. Here are the list of affected phones/devices:
