LIFE OF SERVICE: St Kitts & Nevis PM Saves Elderly Passenger’s Life Mid-flight

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis Terrance Drew helped stabilized an elderly traveller on a flight from Miami, Florida to Basseterre, St. Kitts. The PM who is also a medical doctor was also a passenger on the flight.

Reports have it that sometime during the flight, an elderly male passenger began having complications and fell unresponsive.

The flight attendant requested aid from anyone on board with medical knowledge, and Prime Minister Drew, a Cuban and American-trained internal medicine physician, responded.

The patient was ultimately revived with Dr. Drew recommending that the passenger be removed from the flight and examined in a specialized facility after keeping him alive through the flight.

The patient was sent to the JNF hospital for additional medical care.

The flight’s crew, passengers, and patient’s family congratulated the Prime Minister for his life-saving intervention.

Dr. Terrance Drew was returning from a 4-day visit to Taiwan meeting government officials. He was elected as St Kitts and Nevis’ newest PM back in August.
