Comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked onstage by an armed man Tuesday night as he performed at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl arena.

The suspect pointed a replica handgun that contained a knife blade at Chappelle before being tackled to the ground during his set at the ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ Festival on Tuesday.

Chappelle was unharmed, but the suspect has been taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The incident took place while Chappelle was performing at the Hollywood Bowl.

Videos from audience members’ cell phones showing a man run onto the stage and tackle the comedian flooded social media.

Los Angeles Police Department said a 23-year-old man armed with a replica handgun that contained a knife blade was arrested and accused of assault with a deadly weapon but later dropped the felony charges because he wasn’t brandishing the toy gun in his possession when he lunged at the comedian on stage.
