UK: Super Eagles World Cup Kit Up For Design Of The Year Award

Nigeria’s Nike designed World Cup kit has made the shortlist for the 2018 Beazley Design of the Year featured at the London design Museum.

The kit is one of the 87 nominees across six categories announced by the Design Museum in London and will be competing against costumes from the movie "Black Panther" and the menswear label Palomo Spain in the fashion category.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria’s home and away shirts received 3 million pre-order on the Nike website before its official release date which saw long queues at the beginning of June in London of anxious fans who want to get their hands on the shirts.

it sold out in just three minutes.

The Super Eagles went out in the group stages of the tournament in Russia - but their outfits definitely won the fashion stakes.

All the contenders for the annual design award are on display at an exhibition until 6 January - and the winners will be announced on 15 November.

According to the Design Museum, hundreds of design experts from around the world nominate the most innovative and thought-provoking designs from the past 12 months for the awards.
