Twitter Celebrates Nigeria Independence With Dedicated Hashtags, Emojis

News and social media networking platform, Twitter marks Nigeria’s 58th Independence anniversary celebrations with a special set of hashtags and emojis.

On September 27, the company announced a special set of hashtags for the occasion. They included #NigeriaAt58, #HappyIndependenceNG, #NID18 and #NigerianIndependenceDay.

Each hashtag is accompanied with the Nigerian map in the national colours of green and white complemented with the eagle crest of the national emblem synonymous with the country’s football team – Super Eagles.

Google also celebrated Nigeria’s independence with a green and white doodle with a distinct Aso Rock image. A click on the doodle opens up another page of trivia about Nigeria and its history.

English Premier League Side, Arsenal identified with Nigeria as it marks 58th Independence anniversary with a picture of Nigeria international and Arsenal striker, Alex Iwobi alongside a caption “Happy Independence Day.”

Nigeria gained independence from Britain in 1960.
