SOUTH AFRICA: Church Collapse During Passover Service

Thirteen people have been confirmed dead while sixteen others sustained varying degrees of injury when a church building collapsed in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal province.

The incident which occurred late Thursday during Passover service at the Pentecost Holiness Church located at the Dlangubo area of eMpangeni in the province.

Health officials say the building collapsed due to heavy rainfall in northern parts of the province. A team of government officials are set to visit the scene on Friday according to a local news source.

The KwaZulu Natal provincial government has sent words of commiserations to the affected families with the promise of a full scale probe into the incident.

On Friday, a special prayer service was held in a large tent in front of the church.
