The performances will be streamed live on the official Grammy website on February 10 from the Microsoft Theater in L.A. from 12:30–3:30 p.m. PT.
The Egypt 80 band who have also been nominated in the ‘Best World Album’ category for their 2018 Black Times album will be performing alongside another African nominee, Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara who was also nominated for her album ‘Fento’.
They'll be joined by the prelude host Shaggy and additional performers like singer/songwriter Snatam Kaur, trumpeter Craig Morris, and dance/electronic duo Sofi Tukker. Plus, Ángela Aguilar, Aida Cuevas, and Natalia Lafourcade who will connect to perform the Mexican classic "La Llorona."
A statement on the Grammy website stated that “The 61st Grammy Awards will start off with sizzle as the line-up for the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony has been revealed, led by Mr. Boombastic himself, Grammy winner and current nominee Shaggy as host.
